Compartmentalisation

This page is reserved for a discussion on the Compartmentalisation of Symptoms by the medical profession.

All of the same symptoms, many different doctors, each hears a different symptom of interest, and ignores everything else.

For example,

the GP who only heard “joint pain” and sent me off to a rheumatologist,
the other GP who only heard “sinus pain” and sent me off to an ENT surgeon,
that ENT surgeon who ignored the sinus pain, latched onto the very slightly deviated septum that three other ENTs and two radiologists had told me was insignificant, and talked me into a surgery to straighten my septum, for no benefit,
the General Surgeon who only heard “abdominal pain” and convinced me to have my appendix removed,
the Pain Clinic who only heard “back pain” and sent me off to hydrotherapy,
etc., etc., etc…
and all from exactly the same collection of symptoms.

This page is a work in progress.
